Announced at Arrow McLaren SP in IndyCar in 2023, American Alexander Rossi (Andretti) set the best time in the only free practice session for the second Indianapolis Grand Prix in 2022 this Friday July 29.

The winner of the 2016 Indianapolis 500 Miles beat Josef Newgarden (Team Penske). The double IndyCar champion was amply reassured, less than a week after losing consciousness in the paddock of the Iowa oval and injuring his head.

Among the French, Simon Pagenaud (Meyer Shank Racing), who aims to sign another podium after the first Indy GP in early May, set the 16th fastest time. His compatriot Romain Grosjean (Andretti, 21st) was handicapped by road holding problems. “I have no grip on the rear axle. Did I brake too late? Too strong ? What’s going on ? » His engineer told him that they were going to change a brake caliper.

Listen to @RGrosjean talk on the radio about issues with the No. 28.

This is the only practice session before qualifying and under 30 minutes remain.
