This new Alpine A110 GT J. Rédélé celebrates the life of Jean Rédélé - the man that created Alpine. Just 100 units of the A110 GT J. Rédélé will be built with prices starting from €83,000 (est. £73,655). It’s unclear how many of the 100 will be coming to the UK once orders open on 1 June.
Rédélé, born in 1922, became the youngest Renault dealer in France before becoming a successful rally driver. In 1955 he created Alpine - named because of his Coupe des Alpes win the year prior. Since then, Alpine has been headquartered in his hometown of Dieppe, France.
More than 1,100 Alpines gathered at the brand’s headquarters as the firm unveiled its tribute to its founder. Based on the slightly more luxury-focused A110 GT, it features the same 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 296bhp and 250lb ft of torque. That means a 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds and a 155mph top speed.
Available exclusively in Montebello Grey (a colour Alpine says Rédélé was particularly fond of) and with a contrasting gloss black roof, the A110 GT J. Rédélé also gets diamond-cut 18-inch Grand Prix wheels and silver brake calipers. Inside, we see a black leather interior combined with grey stitching.
