More than two years after its official launch, the F-Pace SVR finally got its first special edition. Built by Jaguar’s SV Bespoke division, the new F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 pays tribute to the success of the Jaguar XJR-9 LM racer at the 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans. The model will make its dynamic debut at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 23-26.

The new F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 is finished in an exclusive Midnight Amethyst Gloss paintwork inspired by the original race car. This unique paint appears to be black until the car is under the bright sunshine. Also unique to this special edition are the 22-inch forged alloy wheels finished in Champagne Gold Satin - just like the 1988 XJR-9. A different shade of gold, this time Sunset Gold Satin, is used for the Jaguar leaper and script on the tailgate and the "Edition 1988" logo applied on each front wing panel. In order to create a very elegant contrast, an elegant gloss black finish is applied to the door mirror caps, brake calipers, wheel center caps, and the letter R on the SVR badging.

In the cabin, all the 394 Edition 1988 units are adorned with semi-aniline Ebony leather upholstery. Contrasting Sunset Gold Satin detailing is applied across the dashboard, steering wheel spokes, gear shift paddles, and the heated-and-cooled front Performance Seats. Naked carbon is visible across the entire cabin, while the Jaguar leaper and horn ring on the steering wheel receive a Satin Black finish. More "Edition 1988" badges on the illuminated treadplates and dashboard complete the package. Just like with the standard SVR model, the new Edition 1988 has a very long list of standard features, like the sliding panoramic roof, or the Pivi Pro infotainment system that offers the latest connectivity technologies, including Amazon Alexa integration and what3words.

Under the hood, the F-Pace SVR needs no improvement, so the Edition 1988 is powered by the same 5.0-liter, V-8 supercharged engine. It delivers a total of 542 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Mated to an eight-speed transmission, the engine pushes the SVR from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and up to a top speed of 178 mph.

The F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 will be limited to only 394 units - one for each lap completed by the winning XJR-9 LM at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988. The model is now available to order at a price of $110,000 - excluding $1,150 destination and delivery taxes. On the UK market, prices start from £101,550.
