A clever digital artist has worked his magic on the newly revealed hot hatch, creating a two-door version of the popular car in striking colors.

The new Honda Civic Type R is probably one of the most exciting car releases of the year so far. Naturally, everyone wants a slice of the Honda cake and coverage of it has been immense, and it's certainly proven to be a good-looking car at the very least. It's also meant that digital renderers have had a go at subtle redesigns. One of the best, jlord8 has taken the car and turned the new Civic Type R into a coupe.

The biggest change is of course to the doors of the car. More, the fact that the Civic now has two doors missing. What we get instead is a nice coupe shape to the Civic Type R, with the bigger doors down the side. Of course, the Civic Type R is the very essence of a hot hatchback, so to take a couple of doors off the car might be sacrilege to some people. But you can’t fail to notice how good it looks without those other two doors. Of course, this is something that could never become reality.

Jlord8 has given us two versions of the Civic Type R. We have the first one in blue, a stunning blue as well that works well with the Civic's shape. The car really pops out, while the black wheels compliment the main color of the car nicely. We also get something that oozes classic JDM — a white Civic Coupe Type R, with white wheels. This version looks sensational, especially with the contrasting red interior, the red Honda badge at the front and the red R on the license plate. The red brake calipers also add to the vibe.

Even without the changes that jlord8 has made to the car, the new Civic Type R is already a striking design. The front of the car has quite the bold looking design, with the main grille not too big but a larger air dam below that. Ducts either side, in front of the front wheels, will further aid with cooling and airflow. The new Type R uses the 11th generation of the Civic as its base, and the bulging fender flares and the rather prominent rear spoiler help to set this car apart from the standard Civic Type R.
