Jon Pumfrey's take on the R34 Skyline in Millennium Jade proves that even concept art can look amazing without having to be overdone.
Nissan’s Skyline GT-R R34 is an iconic JDM sports car that is so well-traveled in the world of automotive fandom that there’s almost nothing left to say that people haven’t already said.
Except that there is always something to say about the Skyline. With the help of render artists on the internet – and specifically Instagram like this designer, @dm_jon – the discussion receives yet another angle.
The Nissan Skyline in R34 form is not exactly a one-trick pony either. There are several versions of the car with various levels of upgrades and modifications including the Z-tune spec. This renderer decides to breathe life into this special model that still sits in the hearts of many gear heads.

This render recreates a Skyline R34 Z-Tune which is perhaps the last hurrah from a model line that seemed to go from strength to strength until the arrival of the R35 Nissan GT-R.

Here, in a rainy street, the Nissan Skyline render looks awesome with all the Z-tune accouterments and features. Some close-up embellishments show off the detail levels that modern renders are capable of.
We love the Nismo-branded wheels, the Brembo brake calipers, the limited-edition Millennium Jade paint seen here glistening in the afternoon rain, the Japanese plates, and other details that all add to the authenticity.

The raindrops and mud-flecked wheels show off the details of the Japanese sports car here. The hood has the iconic vented feature and overall the Z-Tune render looks very appealing indeed. With just under 500 hp and around 400 lb-ft of torque, the Z-Tune R34 Skyline was always a special vehicle, with less than 20 made. The car featured improvements brought in over the regular – and already very good – Skyline GT-R.
As many people in the States know, foreign cars can get brought in when 25 or more years old from the time of manufacture. With the Z-Tune cars coming right at the end of Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 production, they should need a few more years until they can legally get bought and imported to the US.
Until then, this render will just have to do.
