A deep green body with a tan interior is always a winning combination.
When it comes to modifying the Land Rover Defender, the default route is to enhance the vehicle's off-road capabilities, but not everybody uses these machines to go off the beaten path. Some just want a luxury vehicle that's tall, and to those who fall into this category, Overfinch has always catered, whether the Land Rover model in question is new or old. The customization company has been very prolific over the last few years, and that has sometimes resulted in creations that are not particularly easy to look at.
Thankfully, its latest creation is certainly easy on the eye. Based on the Defender, this custom build has been revealed as a bespoke one-of-one creation that cost in the region of $175,000 to create.
Commissioned through Overfinch's North American office, the build is based upon a range-topping 2023 D90X that was originally ordered in Santorini Black. The owner reportedly wanted a retro-modern theme, and after multiple digital renderings, decided on a deep metallic pearl green finish called Emerald Green Metallic with gloss black accents for the exterior while the cabin was dressed in Vintage Tan and Ebony duo-tone leather.
Tan and dark green have always looked spectacular, and this just reinforces the positive stereotype. For some contrast on the exterior, the brake calipers have been dressed in a custom bronze paint, with these hiding behind 22-inch gloss black wheels from Centaur. Coupled with the extended wheel arches and spoiler from Overfinch, the Defender looks muscular without being shouty.
Inside, Overfinch tells us that it "sought to create an interior design to complement the interior colorway of the base Land Rover model, but to be distinctly unique." We think the company did a fine job of that, with contrasting stitching and micro piping helping elevate the luxury, bespoke feel. Naturally, there are numerous little badges and nods to the SUV's Overfinch roots, but it's simply not overdone. The result is a car that looks spectacularly opulent without being ostentatious, but this sort of thing still doesn't come cheap. An exact price has not been given, but Overfinch North America tells us that this build cost in the region of $175,000.
