Triumph has launched Scrambler 900 and Speed Twin 900 in the Indian market. Both the bikes come with a powerful 900cc engine. Both these new models are rebadged versions of the Street Twin and Street Scrambler already in the market, which come with some cosmetic updates. The Speed Twin 900 will be available in three colors – Jet Black, Matte Ironstone and Matte Silver Ice. At the same time, the Scrambler 900 will be available in 3 color options – Jet Black, Matte Khaki and Carnival Red/Jet Black. These rebadged models will get a new paint scheme and new badging on the side panels
Price of both bikes The Scrambler 900 Jet Black is priced at Rs 9.45 lakh, Matte Khaki at Rs 9.58 lakh, Carnival Red/Jet Black at Rs 9.75 lakh. The carnival red/jet black color is new this year. It is Rs 30,000 more expensive than the base Jet Black colour. On the other hand, Speed Twin 900 Jet Black is priced at Rs 8.35 lakh, Matte Ironstone is priced at Rs 8.48 lakh and Matte Silver Ice is priced at Rs 8.48 lakh. Engines of both bikes Both Triumph bikes are powered by a 900cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, capable of producing 64hp of power and 80Nm of peak torque. Coming to the bike range, the Scrambler 900 offers a slightly higher rev range due to its off-road nature. Both the motorcycles are mated to a 5-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. Also, these bikes get the same 12-litre fuel tank.
Difference between both the bikes These two bikes have many variations in tire size and styling. The Speed Twin 900 gets a cast-alloy set-up with 100/90-18 wheels at the front and a 150/70-R17 unit at the rear. The Scrambler 900 gets a spoke rim with 100/90-19 wheels at the front and a 150/70-R17 unit at the rear. The Speed Twin 900 weighs 216 kg and the Scrambler 900 weighs 223 kg. Both bikes have safety features For rider safety, Triumph has kept the braking system the same on the Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900 models. In between, you get a disc brake up front with a single 310mm four-piston Brembo caliper. At the same time, a 255mm two-piston Nissin caliper disc brake has been added at the rear.
