There's a lot to love about the 2022 Dodge Charger, even if it's a little pricey.

Dodge is releasing a brand new Charger model for 2022, which is one of many from the seventh generation. In 2011, Dodge took the Charger to new heights with an improvement in interior and exterior styling.

For 2022, the Dodge Charger looks to be pricier than in other years. It has a price tag starting below $40,000, but the price soon skyrockets with premium features. Yet, there is a lot to love about the 2022 Dodge Charger, even if it is a little pricey. There are various trims available, some of which can cost a customer less than the hefty $40,000 mark. The higher trims are certainly those that will impress the likes of a muscle car fanatic.

Hence, let's take a closer look at what we love about the 2022 Dodge Charger.

Those who are happy to drive with the Charger's V6 engine, which isn't as powerful as other trims, will be happy with the standard base model of the Charger. This is an all-wheel drive that comes with a 3.6-liter V6 that can cough out up to 292 horsepower.

Yet, customers who are looking for more power and a better performance can opt for the upgraded trim, the Charger R/T. This features a 5.7-liter V8 engine that can churn out a whopping 375 horsepower. In comparison to the base model of the Charger, this is pretty impressive.

For even more power, there is a V8 Scat Pack model that can max out at 485 horsepower.

The base model of the 2022 Dodge Charger is set at $32,945 after the destination fee is added. Meanwhile, the R/T model, which we think is the best on offer for its performance figures, is on the market for $42,095.

Another thing to love about the 2022 Dodge Charger is the option to add on a performance handling group package. Even though this will cost a customer extra, with the entire car costing $35,220 or more, it will be worth it for those seeking a sportier and more adventurous Charger.

The performance handling group package comes with black Brembo fixed caliper 4-piston brakes and a sport-tuned suspension, which makes for a much sportier and race-convenient ride. Thereafter, the package also includes a flat-bottomed leather steering wheel and 20-inch Black Noise wheels with all-season performance 245/45ZR20 tires. The steering wheel and exterior wheels make the ride much sportier-looking, as well as feeling much more comfortable to drive when racing or driving across tougher terrains.

This package is not available on the standard all-wheel-drive models. But, it is available for the GT trims, as well as the R/T and Scat Pack.

The 2022 Dodge Charger does come with the option to add on driver convenience settings. But, they will cost extra. Should a customer wish to heighten their security and driving convenience, they can for an extra cost in the R/T trim. This package includes a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, heated exterior mirrors, and upgraded headlights, which will make for a much more comfortable and safer drive.

However, the R/T package is one of the most expensive, so it might not be ideal for those looking to spend less than $40,000.

On the other hand, the new Charger models do come equipped with a deluxe security alarm, which doesn't cost the customer any extra. With auto theft rising in the U.S., it was Dodge's decision to increase the security of their customer's purchases. The Hellcat and Scat Pack models are among the top Dodge cars to be stolen. Hence, the deluxe security alarm has three functions to keep the Chargers as safe as possible.

Inclusive of the security system is a function that allows owners to input a four-digit code into the radio head unit, which works to temporarily reduce the car’s speed to under 3 horsepower.

Thereafter, a new feature is rolling out for the deluxe security alarm, which will make the Charger blare an alarm when a window is broken. Furthermore, the sensors within the system can also detect when someone is trying to unlawfully tow the vehicle or reach their hand through the window. Hence, it will be pretty much impossible for a thief to get away with trying to steal a 2022 Dodge Charger. With these security features included, it will put a customer's mind at peace.

In summary, there is a lot to love about the 2022 Dodge Charger. Although it isn't the cheapest model, nor the most luxurious with very little to say about the overall design and materials used, it can make for a great muscle car companion. It is the ideal muscle car for those that seek power and performance over aesthetics.
